Running a political Facebook page, you encounter people who disagree with your viewpoints. That’s nothing new. I have grown used to angry Leftists and trolls. I have yet to encounter a Leftist that wanted to have a civil discussion on a subject. Instead, they write something crude and/or insulting and simply want a fight. In most cases, I will ban them from my page & delete their comment. Listening to others’ opinions and engaging in a civil discourse is good. Spewing foul language and insulting one’s level of intelligence goes nowhere.
Yesterday I had a Leftist visitor who didn’t call me any names, but wished to educate me on WWII, Hitler & our US troops. His comments were appalling and I was further blown away when I discovered this man is a Professor. When you read my response below, you will learn exactly what this “man” wrote that made me so furious.
As many of my readers already know, my late Dad signed up to go fight the evil in WWII. He was on the front lines and saw things I imagine he never got over. There are many like my Dad who were the “Greatest Generation”. They deserve nothing but respect and gratitude for their service & sacrifice.
In addition, the millions of Jews that were murdered and tortured at the hands of a madman, cannot be forgotten or have their memory disgraced in any way. I would like to share a comment one of my readers wrote about a dear man who survived the Nazis.
“I know a man with numbers tattooed on his arm who lost his whole family to the camps who when he was rescued by the Americans saw one of them crying. When he asked the soldier why he was crying the soldier told my friend he was crying for what he had been through. My friend, Mickey said he couldn’t understand why this big, strong American soldier would cry for a skinny, dirty little Jewish boy like him. They fed him, got him medical attention and he came here to live and he is so proud to be an American citizen. He’s in his 90’s now and has lived a good, honorable life and he has never forgotten the big American soldier who shed tears for him. What a beautiful story he told me.”
As today is #HolocaustRemembranceDay, what better time to not only remember the past, but to be sure we share this history with our children. We must never forget history. As the old quote goes, “Those who cannot remember the past are condemned to repeat it.” (George Santayana 1863-1952)
The Professor who visited my page has a very different idea about our history. Ideas that disrespect the Jewish people of the Holocaust and our brave soldiers who sacrificed so much.
My response to the Professor:
*When you come to this page & tell me that Hitler “was only a madman because that’s what we’ve been told”…
*When you come to this page & tell me that my Dad fought in WWII “because that’s what he was ordered to do”…
*When you come to this page & tell me that in a court of law, Hitler wouldn’t have been prosecuted because everything would’ve been “heresay”…
*When you come to this page & tell me that US soldiers like MY DAD “were the ones who caused a real holocaust on the German people”…
I will ban you every which way from Tuesday. You are SO out of here. I ban you not because I can’t counter your assholian arguments.
*I ban you because you are so completely turned around & deluded, it would be easier to explain it to my foot.
*I ban you because you dare to bring disgrace upon my Dad’s name & the names of all of our HEROES from WWII who saw things you can’t even imagine. Men who showed bravery, integrity & honor. Men, like my Dad, who signed up because they wanted to go fight the evil. Men, like my Dad, who were on the front lines & saw things so horrific, when he returned from the war & had battle fatigue so bad, he tried to kill himself to escape the horrors relived in his mind.
*I ban you because you have no idea what the Jewish people endured at the hands of Hitler & his minions. The devastation. The lives taken. Men, women & children. Elderly. Murdered simply because they were Jews.
Yes, I believe everyone has the right to free speech. THANKS TO MEN LIKE MY DAD, you can utter your stupidity as much as you want, but you won’t be saying it on MY PAGE. Go tell it to your Commie friends.
If not for men like my Dad, you’d be spewing your deluded thoughts in GERMAN, out of your rear-end & then you’d be thrown in jail for sharing your opinion.
If I could ban you twice, I would. Be gone. ~~Sister Patriot
