I have to admit, things like the story of Tom Francois & his visit from the Secret Service, really frighten me. Our First Amendment rights are being squelched. When you start to think twice about what you might say, you know you are losing your freedom to state your mind. This is not the country our founders planned for us.
The Conservative/Tea Party/people on the right are a peaceful group. You can see that in the evidence shown simply with rallies. Compare a Tea Party rally to an Occupy Wall Street mess & see the difference. Out of the two, which is the law-abiding group? The evidence speaks for itself. Speaking for myself & those that I know, we do not wish harm to come to *anyone*. We disagree with the policies of this administration and it is our RIGHT in this country to do so. However, ill wishes toward anyone opposing our beliefs just isn’t something you will see from the Right. Frankly, that type of behavior generally comes from the Left. I wonder if any law enforcement agencies ever visited “anti-bullying” czar Dan Savage after his many public proclamations of wishing cancer on Sarah Palin and others on the right? There are in fact many liberals on social media who publicly wish harm to people on the right – both public figures and private citizens. Why are they given a pass? It seems to me that nobody should wish harm to another human being, period. As Christians (and I know not everyone is a Christian) that is how we are raised and what we believe.
I suppose it all comes down to intimidation. If things like what happened to Mr. Francois start to happen to various people who disagree with this administration’s policies, others will start to feel fearful of speaking out. They’ll think twice the next time they read about an injustice. They will discuss it amongst their friends and family in person, but they won’t discuss it on the internet. They certainly won’t mention any of their feelings over the phone, as we all know who can hear us now. When will people stop Googling for information on issues? We know the NSA is tapped into the internet. Intimidation invokes fear and fear shuts people down. Our First Amendment Right is there, but it’s being buried. Becoming null and void. With enough intimidation from the left and enough fear from the right, it will be completely extinguished.
We are traveling down a scary road. Where is it taking us? What do we do to peacefully preserve our freedoms? My first suggestion, as always, is to pray. God protect us all. ~~Sister Patriot
