Dr Benjamin Carson, in his Prayer Breakfast speech (and if you haven’t watched it yet, it’s an absolute MUST SEE) hit the nail on the head when he talked about the dumbing down of Americans. He said that in his new book, “America the Beautiful”, he shows a 6th grade exit exam from the 1830’s. An exam that the sixth graders would have to pass in order to receive their sixth grade certificate of completion. Dr Carson states that he doubts most College students would be able to pass the same exam today. Why is this?
Dr Carson also talked about times of slavery and slaves were not permitted to learn how to read. Why was that? I think the answer to both questions are the same. Knowledge is power. How can you control a large group of people if they are knowledgeable, educated and informed? It makes it much more difficult.
In today’s world we have people who know the latest on the Kardashians, but don’t know who our Secretary of State or even our Vice President is. They don’t know what “Benghazi” is about or where it is. Their eyes glaze over when you start to talk about it.
Short attention spans and the current world of instant gratification, not to mention poor educational standards all means that this group of people are easier to manipulate.
So much is going on around us! Our Constitutional rights are being trampled and are seriously in peril, but it doesn’t even register on half of America’s radar.
Just take a look at these recent dangers to our freedom ~~

These are just three stories that show what is happening to our freedom. It just scratches the surface as there is so much more taking place. How do we educate those who are so unaware? What is the answer here and what condition will this country be in by 2016?? ~~Sister Patriot
